Master closet redo

Writer's picture: SashaSasha

I couldn't do it for one more day. Sharing one bar to hang my clothes with my husband and knowing how much wasted space there was, I looked at him one day and said "let's go to IKEA."

DANGEROUS WORDS AROUND HERE.

We ended up taking home this dope Boaxel closet system that allowed us the flexibility we need from season to season.

My husband went from grumbling about our closet to stoked, and it took only the weekend!

Demo resulted in chunks coming out of the walls- spackle to the rescue, and then instead of patching the paint, I talked my hubby into a fun color- Perennial Green.

With our clothes in the green looks more neutral.

We added a modern mirrored gold sliding door to replace the annoying accordion doors that came with our house. I love how much light they bring in and that I always have a big mirror to pick out my fits in.

Products used:

Closet system:

Ikea Boaxel- in the store you can customize your layout based on the size of your closet, and they package the list of what you need and send you a link for the warehouse, Our layout was less than $200!

Ikea Billy bookshelves- we used these for extra built ins, they were a great deal at $39!

Paint:

Behr Marquee, Eggshell, "Perennial Green" 1 gallon ~ $45 TRUST ME- PAINT IS NOT THE PLACE TO SKIMP. This paint includes primer, and a fancy ass pour spout comes with it.

Closet Door:

Econoline Painted Steel Aztec Gold Framed Mirrored Interior Sliding Door
